Plant-Based
NATURAL & CLEAN BURNING
We define clean-burning candles as a slower, more even burn with minimal visible soot. It comes down to the materials used and how the candles are formulated.
Our candles are made using a paraffin-free blend of soy and coconut wax. Unlike traditional paraffin wax, soy and coconut waxes are plant-based and are known to burn at a lower temperature. This helps the candle melt more evenly, extend burn time, and reduce visible soot.
We pair our wax blend with lead-free, cotton wicks that are carefully selected to suit the composition of each candle. When correctly sized and trimmed, these wicks support a steady flame and consistent burn.
Together, these considered choices allow our candles to deliver a clean, consistent burn while maintaining fragrance performance and longevity — exactly as intended.
INGREDIENTS & MATERIALS
PLANT-BASED WAX BLEND
We use a premium blend of soy and coconut wax, sourced from Australian manufacturers. Our candles are paraffin-free and made without added performance enhancers or unnecessary additives, allowing the natural qualities of the wax to shine.
PURE COTTON WICK
Bondi Scent candles feature an unbleached, lead-free cotton wick, designed to promote an even, low-soot burn when used as directed.
CUSTOM FRAGRANCES
We collaborate with Australia’s leading fragrance manufacturers to develop our signature scents. Our fragrances are a considered blend of fine fragrance oils and essential oil components, thoughtfully formulated to be phthalate- and paraben-free.
BOROSILICATE GLASS VESSEL
Our candles are housed in borosilicate glass vessels, chosen for their durability and resistance to heat. This type of glass is less prone to cracking or thermal shock, making it ideal for safe, long-lasting use and reuse.
PACKAGING
All our glass candles are housed in uncoated 100% recyclable paper stock printed with non-toxic vegetable based inks. Our candle tins are made from metal and designed to be reused.
FRAGRANCES & SCENTS
We spend a lot of time refining our formulas to get the balance just right. Our scents are designed to gently fill a space and enhance everyday moments, without feeling overpowering.
Because we use a plant-based soy and coconut wax blend, fragrance throw may feel a little softer than some paraffin-based candles, allowing the scent to disperse more naturally as the candle burns.

Our vessels are made from borosilicate glass, handcrafted to a design that prioritises longevity and integrity long after the candle has burned. Each vessel is fully reusable, and upcycling is something we actively encourage.

RECYCLABLE PACKAGING
Our candles are housed in recyclable packaging. We encourage customers to dispose of packaging responsibly according to their household recycling guidelines.

SUPPLY CHAIN
We aim to minimise single-use plastics wherever possible. Our mailers and packing materials use recycled cardboard and bio-fill packing peanuts derived from corn starch, which are biodegradable and water soluble.

TIPS FOR CANDLE BURNING PERFECTION
MELT
Light the wick as is, no trimming required. Allow the first burn to fully melt the entire top layer of wax — this helps prevent tunnelling and sets the burn memory of your candle. As Bondi Scent candles are designed for longevity, the first burn may take up to 2 hours. Once fully melted, fragrance throw will be at its strongest. Draft-free placement also helps maintain an even flame and optimal performance.
Tip: For events, light your candle about an hour before guests arrive.TRIM
Trim the wick to approximately 10 mm after each burn to maintain an even flame and reduce smoke. If soot appears on the glass, allow the candle to cool and wipe clean with a soft cloth. For best results, burn your candle for no more than four hours at a time.
REUSE
Discontinue use when approximately 10 mm of wax remains. To clean your vessel, place it in the freezer to remove remaining wax, then wash with warm soapy water. Do not pour wax down the drain. Once cleaned, reuse your vessel — perfect for flowers, brushes, or everyday storage.
