How to Burn your Candle Perfectly

To get the most from your Bondi Scent candle, follow these simple care tips.

Remove all packaging and place your candle in a draft-free spot. Light the wick as is.

Melt - The first burn is the most important. Allow the wax to fully melt across the surface (around 1.5–2 hours) to set the candle’s memory and prevent tunnelling.

Trim - If the wick starts to mushroom, trim the tip once the candle has cooled to keep the flame clean. Avoid burning for more than 4 hours at a time.

Reuse - Discontinue use when ~10 mm of wax remains. To reuse your vessel, freeze to remove leftover wax, then wash with warm soapy water. Avoid pouring wax down the drain.

How are Bondi Scent candles clean burning?

Our coconut soy wax blend burns at a lower temperature than paraffin, which means a slower, cleaner burn with minimal soot. Paired with lead-free cotton wicks and clean fragrance oils, you get a beautiful scent throw without the nasties typically released by mass-produced candles.

Are Bondi Scent candles vegan?

Yes, all of our candles are 100% vegan and cruelty-free. We use a plant-based coconut and soy wax blend, and none of our ingredients or fragrances are tested on animals.
How strong are Bondi Scent's candle fragrances?

We put real care into balancing our formulas, creating scents that gently fill a space and lift everyday moments without overwhelming them. Because our coconut and soy wax blend is plant-based, the scent can feel a little softer than paraffin candles, settling into a room more naturally as the candle burns. If a fragrance ever feels too strong or too subtle for you, we'd love to hear about it.
What's the best way to care for my candle?

On the first burn, let the wax melt fully across the top of the vessel to set an even burn memory and avoid tunnelling. This can take up to two hours, and the fragrance will be at its strongest once the pool is complete. Trim the wick to around 10mm between burns, keep your candle away from draughts, and burn for no longer than four hours at a time. Once cleaned, reuse your vessel: perfect for flowers, brushes, or everyday storage.
